NIH Posts Call for $200M in Stimulus Grants

NEW YORK (GenomeWeb News) – The National Institutes of Health has put out a call for certain new grants it will fund with money from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, and it is outlining some areas it will support with the funds.

Medical research centers fretting as grants dry up
Federal funds for Cleveland hospitals have dropped by 17% in three years
CLEVELAND — Federal grants to Cleveland’s big hospitals and biomedical institutions have dropped steadily since 2005. That worries executives and research directors, who warn that regional health-care jobs will fade if the Obama administration doesn’t place a priority on National Institutes of Health funding.
